My mission & VALUES
Saskia Hawkins Acupuncture is located in Catford and Blackheath, South East London. Acknowledging the different health challenges and backgrounds of each individual, I provide a welcoming and inclusive environment to ensure that everyone feels supported on their acupuncture journey.
I am passionate about reconnecting people with their health in natural ways. My mission is to offer individualised and holistic treatments that address the root causes of your health issues and support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
I believe that acupuncture is a partnership between practitioner and patient, built on mutual trust and collaboration. The acupuncture sessions I offer are rooted in extensive expertise, which I am committed to enhancing through Continuing Professional Development and staying abreast of the latest innovations and research in the field.
MY TRAINING
I spent 3 years studying for my Acupuncture degree at The City College of Acupuncture in London, training under some of the UK’s leading acupuncturists. I am also a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the UK's principal regulatory board of acupuncturists. Learning the art and science of Acupuncture is a life-long journey and since qualifying, I have undertaken further studies on acupuncture for fertility, pregnancy, menopause and facial acupuncture.
MY STORY
My interest in complementary medicine was piqued at a young age having been brought up with herbalists and acupuncturists in the family. As a young girl who suffered from bad eczema, I had first-hand experience of its powerful and effective results.
Building on my interest in health and nature I went on to do a science baccalaureate in France and a biology degree at the University of Exeter. After university, I got swept up by city life and went on to have a 10-year career in marketing. But when a close relative suddenly became ill my wish to be able to support people’s health was stronger than ever. I soon enrolled on my acupuncture journey.
Today I run Saskia Hawkins Acupuncture in South East London. I always look forward to introducing acupuncture to new patients and being a part of my patient's journey to better health. I never tire of the amazing results that Chinese medicine delivers. It's truly an honour to witness the relief that people feel and the healing they experience.
Outside of the therapy room, I continue my marketing role, freelancing for some health and wellness companies I love. You’ll also find me in the yoga studio still attempting to do handstands, taking my much-loved westie for a walk, growing my own medicinal herbs and cooking for friends & family.
